Guðlaugur is the chief investment officer of Viska Digital Assets and one of the founding partners.

Guðlaugur has over 16 years of experience working in financial markets and the financial sector. He is the owner of the investment company Opus Invest, which has invested in cryptocurrencies and blockchain-related products for many years, as well as equities, bonds, and FX.

Before Viska, he worked as a securities broker and partner at Arctica Finance hf for six years.

Previously, he worked in financial management at Brim hf. since 2008.

Guðlaugur also worked in asset management at Exista hf from 2006 – 2008. Gudlaugur was also an assistant teacher in International Finance at Reykjavík University, along with his studies. Guðlaugur has also sat on the boards of various companies and performed different consulting jobs in finance.

Guðlaugur completed an M.Sc in financial economics at University of Iceland and a B.Sc. in business administration from University of Reykjavík and is also a certified securities broker in Iceland.
